Suren Yumnam was a talented Manipuri singer, Song Writer, and Composer, widely recognized for his contributions to contemporary and folk music  from Wangjing Wangkhei, Thoubal, Manipur, India. With a soulful voice and a deep connection to the region’s musical traditions, he has gained popularity among fans for his melodious and emotionally rich songs. He started singing at a young age and became favorite for most people in Manipur and widely popular in India as well. Suren was the youngest of four sons and one daughter born to Yumnam Ibopishak and Momon. He was married to Yumnam Ongbi Bembem Devi. He died after suffering from a liver disease on the evening of 31st October 2022.

Born and raised in Manipur, India, Suren Yumnam has carved a niche for himself in the local music industry with his unique style, blending traditional Manipuri folk elements with modern sounds. Some of his well-known tracks include “Nungshibi Nangna”, “Nungairakta”, and “Eina Nangna”, which have resonated deeply with audiences.
